A squall line in association with the Mei-Yu front moved rapidly over northern Taiwan and stalled in the vicinity of the ground-based Doppler radars. The system produced heavy precipitation (>150 mm/12 hr) in the vicinity of the Doppler radars. A second surge pushed the front south of Taiwan late on 25 June, with the development of a second MCS system that produced heavy rainfall over southern Taiwan. Excellent Doppler radar and rawinsonde data were collected of the Mei-Yu front and of an MCS producing heavy precipitation over northwest Taiwan.
