During the mid-afternoon, the ground-based Doppler radars took observations of some weak convection over the straits. The P-3 aircraft carried out several low-level jet patterns; intersecting a very weak band of convection on the west side of Taiwan. The aircraft then circumnavigated around the west side of Taiwan and returned to Okinawa.
